Anna Jonikas nee Putrius

Anna (Putrius) Jonikas, 90, of Danvers, died November 12, 2005, at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Pranas Jonikas, with whom she had shared over 50 years of marriage.

Born in Lithuania, April 20, 1915, she was raised and educated there before immigrating to Salem with her family in 1949. She had resided in Salem for five years before moving to Danvers, where she had lived for over 50 years.

Mrs. Jonikas had been employed for 22 years at GTE Sylvania at the Sylvan Street plant in Danvers until her retirement in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers.

She is survived by two sons, John Jonikas and his wife, Michele, of Middleton, and Peter Jonikas of Danvers; two grandchildren, Jason Jonikas and Alyssa Jonikas; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated November 15 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Danvers, followed by burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Arrangements were by the C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors of Danvers.
