HOUSE, Agnes "Casey" (Kasavage) Agnes "Casey" (Kasavage) House, 97, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Oliver P. House III, died peacefully Thursday (July 10, 2008) in East Hartford. Agnes was born Dec.10, 1910 in South Windsor the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Petraitis) Kasavage. She graduated from East Hartford High School and went to work for H. Whitaker. Agnes was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and after basic training at Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., she transferred to Carlsbad Air Force Base, New Mexico where she spent several years doing secretarial work to let other men go overseas. While at the base she went to physical training school and became a physical training instructor for the WACS at CAAF. After World War II was over she was transferred to Ellington Texas Air Force Base and worked as a secretary to the Colonel of the field. Agnes retired from the Air Force at Ft. Bliss, NJ. with an honorable discharge. After her husband passed away she went to work for the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle PA., then later returning to East Hartford where she obtained a position at the Dept. of Housing and Development where she worked as a secretary befoe her retirement in 1977. Agnes is survived by her nephews, Peter Kasavage of California, Kenneth J. Kasavage Sr. and his wife Sandra of East Hartford; niece Suzanne and her husband Norman Brace Thompson of New Jerseyand Colebrook; great nephew Kenneth J. Kasavage Jr. and his wife Lillian and great great nephew and niece Jacob and Bethany Kasavage of East Hartford; great niece Kimberly Gumkowski and great great nephews Zachary and Tucker Gumkowski of East Greenwich, RI; great niece Darcy with husband Dayne Gumkowski, and great great nieces Paige and Priscilla Gumkowski of Old Saybrook. Agnes was predeceased by her sister Ann Mazotos and her husband Andrew, and brothers Charles Kasavage, and John and wife Julia Kasavage. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 15, 9:15 a.m. from the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose Church 33 Church Street East Hartford. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in East Hartford with full military honors. Calling hours will be Monday July 14, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home
